Things to see and do on the Isle of Skye

Our location is perfect for exploring the ruined township of Galtrigill, where you can search for the mysterious Manners Stone. The nearby coast is home to a wide variety of seabirds. We are close to Neist Point, the most westerly point on Skye, and Waterstein Head, with its 1000 foot sheer sea cliffs. Inland, hill walkers will find plenty to explore.

History and Culture seekers will want to visit nearby Glendale, famous for the Martyrs who fought to change crofting law. Also, there is a piping museum in Borreraig, and a crofting museum in nearby Colbost. Dunvegan Castle – home to the MacLeod Clan for more than 800 years – is only a 15 minutes drive.

For a dining experience second to none, the world-renowned Three Chimneys Restaurant is just 4 miles down the road.

Other places include:

  • The CORAL BEACHES of Claigan.
  • The TROTTERNISH PENINSULA – wonderful coastal and cliff scenery.
  • The QUIRAING – awesome rock formations.
  • NEIST POINT – the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye, giving excellent views over Moonen Bay to Waterstein Head and over the Minch to the Western Isles.
  • WATERNISH POINT – walk to the lighthouse, spot wildlife, especially whales, dolphins and seabirds.
